Phone-home (beaconing)
The behaviour of a device (robot, sensor, software) that automatically sends data to its manufacturer or to a remote server without the operator's knowledge. In English: phone-home or beaconing. Cited as a national security risk in debates about Chinese humanoid robots deployed in countries allied to the United States.
