IPO (initial public offering)
Initial Public Offering: the first listing of a company's shares on a stock market. It allows pre-existing shareholders to realise their capital gains. In robotics, the IPO is often planned as early as the previous funding round, with financial investors buying into the company beforehand in order to benefit from the valuation at issue.
