Contracting authority
Entity (client, industrial buyer) that defines the specifications its suppliers must comply with and places orders accordingly. In the robotics industry, a major contracting authority (e.g. BMW, Amazon) can impose its own evaluation and qualification criteria on robot manufacturers, either in place of or in addition to public standards.
