Decoupling (découplage)
A strategy aimed at reducing economic and technological interdependence between two countries or geographical areas, particularly between the United States and China. In robotics, it takes the form of bringing production back home, diversifying component suppliers and imposing restrictions on the export of critical technologies. Not to be confused with offshoring (moving to a third country) or reshoring (complete repatriation). FR: découplage.
