Tactile sensor
A device that measures force, pressure or slippage on contact with a surface. In humanoid robotics, it allows the robot's hand to modulate its grip according to the fragility or mass of the object. Recent implementations (e.g. e-Flesh from Assured Robot Intelligence) combine 3D-printable microstructures, magnets and magnetometers.
