Physics engine (moteur physique)
Software that simulates the laws of physics (contacts, gravity, friction, rigid-body dynamics) to enable robots to be trained in a virtual environment. Critical to the validity of sim-to-real transfer: a faithful physics engine narrows the gap between simulated behaviour and real-world behaviour. Examples: Newton 1.0 (NVIDIA/Linux Foundation), Kamino (Disney Research). EN: physics engine, physics simulator.
